03 Jun Project Spotlight: Indianapolis Airport Authority
Earlier this year, we were delighted to see Indianapolis Airport voted North America’s best airport for the fourth year in a row; quite a coup for our city! And getting to build custom software for the Indianapolis Airport Authority, was quite a coup for us!
For eight months, Senior Application Architect, Jesse Bacon, along with his trusty sidekicks; Drew, Ann Marie and Geoff, have been working on a financial and budgeting tracking system for the IAA. This system converted their old, access database budget application, to a modern website that can be accessed remotely from any browser including mobile devices.
While the IAA could work remotely with their old application, everyone had to copy the entire database over the network anytime they saved anything… that meant one little click, could mean a three minute wait! That’s completely unacceptable in today’s fast paced world. Now with their shiny new custom web application, their data has been centralized and all of that copying, is a thing of the past.
The new application also has advanced web features such as editable Excel-like grids that can be used to calculate financial aspects of each project the IAA works on, and it the ability to manage aspects of multiple projects at one time. Plus, Jesse made sure it came with easy-breezy drag and drop capabilities.
Jesse and his crew have helped the IAA convert their existing reports to a centralized modern and programmable platform that can be accessed remotely and doesn’t have to be manually reset every budget year.
With the new system in place, we’re confident that the IAA will continue its winning streak and again be voted the best!
