Project Spotlight: IHTC

Project Spotlight: IHTC

Focused on patient care, research, and education, the Indiana Hemophilia and Thrombosis Center (IHTC) is “committed to providing the highest quality comprehensive healthcare services to patients with bleeding and clotting disorders, and to their families.”

An organization with a focus this specialized, needs specialized software to aid them in their day to day.

For the past year, Drew, Joe, and Ann Marie have worked tirelessly building a custom web application

for IHTC; a medical information survey database called the Indiana Hemophilia Surveillance Project. The database is used by the state of Indiana to track the treatment and treatment results for patients with Hemophilia.

This new application will track information, aggregate the data collected, and make decisions based on the facts gathered in order to validate;

  • How effective some of the different treatment options are
  • If there might be regions or facilities that need additional training
  • Where more recent treatment options should be made available
  • Where patient education is lacking
  • Where in Indiana, there is a lack of specialized support

A medical database of this kind that allows users to configure and collect data is not something that can be purchased off the shelf. For IHTC, custom software development has given them the tools they need to effectively manage and collect helpful information.
